SO....how does one go about reporting a toxic community?
Serious question.. Have had issues with an individual on several occasions. Not "allowed" to defend myself, yet this person has been reported many times by more than just me over the past 5 years, and the "community" allows it. This Community has "standards" but from the posts and comments throughout it, those "standards" are extremely loose, and almost every post and comment can be taken as either rude, harassment, inflammatory, argumentative, etc.
I have had LESS "rude" or "offensive" posts and comments removed, and that would be fine. I have let this go for a year now, however the "community" moderators don't appear to be doing their job in a "community" known for toxicity. Worse, there are really not that many posts daily IN that forum, it is not difficult to read the headline of every new post, nor to scroll through the peanut gallery. Either this forum doesn't have enough people to do the job properly, or they are incapable of actually taking care of the forum.
I am tired of being stalked, and harassed, and if I say something in my own defense, they take it upon themselves to punish me, rather than the guy obviously instigating it.

I don't want to straight out name the forum or the individual. That will happen depending on the outcome of my recent report. I AM keeping screen shots and records however, as I may have to report the entire forum, or "community" whatever that is.

I put this in "off topic" simply because there is nota place I can find to post this, and Steam seems to have a problem with redirection and misdirection. If the problem is also WITH the person/persons supposedly running the community/forum, it's rather contradictory and detrimental to report this TO said forum/community. It's a STEAM issue, not a "forum" issue.

Game forums are mainly moderated by devs and regular users promoted to moderators by the devs, as steam don't have the ressources to watch out every single forums for every single devs. That's why game forums are famous for being absolute cesspools.

So don't bother, just make your own group about it with people you see fit.

Block and Ignore; or stop using Steam

Those are your two options.

The AI moderators aren't going to help you.

Report button I suppose. Anyway, you could also play games. Then you don't have to worry about a community.

Steam doesn't care. Steam's moderators are mostly bots. Don't expect justice or relief.

Thank you, wasn't aware I could make my own group here. great place to start, as I am not the only one fed up over there!

That being said, from what I hear from the peanut gallery there....the devs ignore it like the plague. They are too busy with their own website or something...that and corporate stuff.....big name corporation owned by a big name toy company...you know the drill, lol!

Thanks for the suggestion, as "leave" is rather lame in and of itself...why should I let them have the satisfaction? But man....starting my own group? Now THAT is an idea worthy of looking into!

You don't like Kurt, we get it. He's dismissive, rude, ignores context, and is off topic.
Doesn't mean that he's staIking you or that he doesn't have a right to his opinion.

Anyways, stay on Steam - I wouldn't wish the misfortune of any of you in those topics showing up at the LGS.
well, now I know someone in charge, LMAO! it's more than just that, the whole place has become toxic, and I am not the only one who feels that way. I shouldn't have to leave, nor should anyone feel pressured or bullied to. I'm old, it isn't worth the health risk. Meantime, going to start my own UNofficial group, since as it is the Devs don't participate over there... Creating a forum specifically for venting (within Steam Guidelines of course) away from General discussion. Also creating a tips and tricks, share your build, etc., and keeping the group by invite/request only for now...private, until ready to go public. That will depend on how it goes.

I'm just tired of having to block people, hide, not engage when obviously being stalked and attacked, Kurt is just one of many thorns. I am also tired of not being able to vent or criticize the game when it is warranted, let alone defend the good aspects. And yes, I know what a nightmare it can be, but I have been an admin, officer, and moderator other places, and still would be if they hadn't gone belly-up.... I miss the days of V-Bulletin
