People are ditching Windows for GNU/Linux
GNU/Linux has now reached 5% in general desktop marketshare, and over 3% on Steam. Just 5 years ago, the numbers were sitting at a mere fraction of this. People are finally waking up to the scam that Microsoft has been selling them for the past 3 decades, choosing software built to free and empower you over software built to shackle you.

I couldn't be any happier about this, people are making the right descision! :steamhappy:

Desktop market share of Linux is going down.

It's sitting at 2.95%. Peak was 4.27% on April this year.

There's some margin of error but we know for a fact that it isn't growing at the moment. It's been downwards so many months in a row.

It was like 1% back in times for personal desktop, 5% is signifant when microsoft and winbloat has a unfair situation of monopol

i am not smart enough to use anything but the most basic vanilla ahh OS setups, so i think things like linux are forever not for me

People can barely use Linux Mint let alone an advanced distro such as Arch or Gentoo.

Not the same rate of growth though, if it was than macOS would be the majority desktop operating system.

It’s so great people are starting to use Linux. Maybe Ubisoft will allow their anti cheat on Siege to work on Linux soon too 💖
