Poland shares a border with Russia, so they can't afford to be all-talk-no-bite. Putin needs to see that they are ready to kick butt.
UK has also defended shadowing a Russian spy ship and warned of possible military action.

The Kremlin is a threat to much of the west.

Putin needs to justify the loss of tens of thousands of young Russian men to what was supposed to be a "three day special military operation" that has yet to make meaningful gains.

If he didn't have nukes, he'd have been brought to heel long ago. The Red Army of WW II up through the Cold War has been demonstrated to be a laughable shell of its former self in modern times, and all ol' Putin has left is guerilla tactics in non-belligerent nations and the wiggling of his pathetic nuclear tadger.

It was never officially presented as a “three-day special military operation.”
If you claim that this was the stated objective of the Russian government, then please share the official source. We both know none exists.

On the ground, Russia has been advancing faster recently. Siversk is close to falling, Ukraine is dealing with major infrastructure problems, and corruption scandals keep hitting their government. The amount of pro-Banderist bot activity lately also suggests a high level of anxiety on their side.

I’m genuinely curious how Europe and the US plan to handle the situation as it keeps deteriorating.

Nothing odd in that. Poland have always had a large millitary and done various military training operations etc. along with having large border control towards the east.
More European countries should be like Poland and Finland tbh.

Poland receives significant EU funding, especially from bigger economies like Germany and France, and its security posture today is heavily tied to the US presence on its territory. That’s the reality of their strategic choice.

France is the second net contributor in EU after Germany and has the first european army (even when anglos were still here) Poland is absolutly irrelevant, in reality, it's a burden for EU

France contributes about €26 billion to the EU, which is far more than it receives.

Poland is the biggest beneficiary of these funds.
Without major net contributors like France, Germany, Italy and Spain, countries that rely heavily on EU money simply couldn’t maintain the same level of support.

Sure burden - which is why they produce all kinds of stuff so the businesses in other EU countries can make good profits.

It´s not about how much the countires give to other countires - it´s about how much they get in return. Do You think Germany would spend a cent if it wouldn´t benefit off it?

Like Germany contributes the most, but also profits the most from the EU. Not via EU money, but via business. And of course it´s not really that the workers profit off it. Like Germany may pay 20 billions a year, but also makes 70 billions more profits with it. So it´s a net gain of 50 billions.
