They always hit me with the exact same two lines.

"did you buy this (csgo image). give me your payment information"

"oops! reported your account! give me your account login"

Like, I get it, they prefer quantity over quality, but after a time, it just gets tiring. I know its my fault for even entertaining them, but I do find it fun to waste as much of their time as possible, even if it wont likely cause much to change.

It does hurt to see 5+ year old accounts be used as sock puppets for scams, however.

That is all I have to say.

while i agree

the adage

"if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

is working hard

we see sooo many that fall for this

I only dealt with two personally and I tell ya, it was a scene from a horror movie.

its the same as spam callers, they only do it because people fall for it

same reason why there is labels on shampoo and bleach containers lmfao

fyi a few scammer tried another way like this:
" i mistakenly report you for item duplicate "
" add this steam moderator to proceed " (in reality its a fake one)
then the moderator ask to add him on discord and he also asked my steam guard code
fyi the real steam mods will never ask ur steam guard code

Steam will never add people on discord. Try to waste his time, if he hasnet given up.

When i was 5 years old i got scammed out of some worthless item. Then never again because i learned my lesson.. it even inspired me to scam a few people myself back in kindergarten and school

real steam mod will contact you via steam or steam support not discord
and if your guy asking you for steam guard code then you know he's fake

The repeat patterns probably means out worked on some people unfortunately.

I've never been scammed because I ignore anything weird and I've seen plenty.
