Using the Ligeti Requiem for that scene was brilliant.
Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of that one for sure.
In the early era, 1954 Gojira is a great movie, Mothra isn't too bad, but the quality of the era quickly tanks after these into some of the worst I've seen.
Of the 2000+ era, GMK is by far the best one, and IMO, the best movie of the series. The 2000 movie wasn't as good, and the ones after GMK just become kind of weird.
Of the newest ones, I didn't mind Minus One. But I didn't really like the direction they went with Shin, or the first American movie that I seen. I haven't seen any of the American ones since since they just give me the impression they're trying to be the superhero movie nonsense but with movie monsters. Eew.

i adore films that utilise physical sets filled with costumes, animatronics, puppets, stop motion animation, dioramas, claymation. anything that takes a lot of time and sweat and blood to be crafting makes a film very special to me. so gojira/toho films, especially the old ones which are FILLED with these types of things, are amazing.
