Why letting go of FOMO, and Sunk Cost guilt helped me enjoy games again.
One of the biggest issues i have had for the past decade of gaming has been FOMO, and Sunk cost guilt.. I always wanted to play the newest games, and not miss out on those expeirences with everyone, but a large part of me wanted to play older great games i missed out on too.. But i always put it to the back because a new game released. Also me buying a 5080 PC, made me feel guilty of playing anything old on it, cause my brain would make me think "you just dropped thousands on a PC, why play some old game? You should only play new titles that push your PC!"

Since then i stopped caring.. I realized that ill play what i want, when i want.. I dont have to use my PC for the newest stuff, and can play newer games when i get to them. My enjoyment in games has risen largely since then. FOMO really ruins the gaming experience.

My solution was "nothing less than 75% off" and very few exceptions...

The Steam Machine will be the next FOMO product of the new year.

NEVER EVER EVER play dead by daylight if you hate FOMO.

the entire game is utter stuffed to gills with it, including content that NEVER comes back.

if it runs well and the price is good i might get it but fomo is dumb and a childish mindset
My obessesion with getting a good deal far out weights any FOMO fear mongering developers could come up with.
I get a specially rush knowing i got something for 2 bucks when its actually $39.99.

the secret is to be self aware, like you get that sensation of needing to buy it but you think it over after that feeling and don't be impulsive!
