Shoulder
I gave up smoking, drinking, drugs and processed food and started working out 82 days ago now. I got quite fat and out of shape after this years binge went on a bit too long, so I started at 189lbs @ 25% fat. My weight dropped to its lowest at as 175lbs. Now I am back to 184lbs @ 16% fat.

So in 82 days I have lost 17lbs of fat, and gained about 12lbs of lean mass.

It seemed to be going well, until a week ago when I dislocated my right shoulder again for the first time in 20 years after getting it rebuilt. I was doing machine fly at 150kg, the first 8 reps were not a problem but on the 9th it popped out. I put it back in and completed the workout, but felt kind of weird.

Since then I have changed machine fly for cable crossovers and I have rested it for a few days, but it still doesn't feel quite right.

Now I am not sure what to do. I know what the doctors will say, but in my experience they just like to make a drama out of stuff and they aren't worth listening to. I will probably get more sense asking here, so, what should I do?

Should I just carry on, should I take a week off, or should I just retire from gym?

You're joking, right? :2018salienbeast1:
Lower your weight per rep...You are putting way too much strain on the rebuilt joint...Go for a burn on increased reps...You shoulder will thank you...

No.
Joints should not be overloaded; they are very fragile.

Therefore, regular gymnastics and exercises for the shoulder and elbow joints are recommended.

After recovery, try heavier loads under the supervision of a qualified trainer.
I think you should reevaluate your relationship with the doctor and the gym.
What you are really coming here for is confirmation bias, where someone in the forum will say "just carry on - it doesn't matter" which is the answer you want to hear and therefore you will feel justified in continuing to go to the gym to abuse your body, even though you know your shoulder is injured and therefore you shouldn't. Then when your shoulder collapses completely you will probably blame the body and say what a crappy shoulder I have, when really you continued to work it and work it, and even after it broke you popped it back in and worked it some more, then finally it gave out completely.
Rest, and recovery are very important parts of fitness. A week off might sound like a lot when you're going every day or many times a week. But it really isn't. Even if you need longer. Plenty of pro athletes who take off way longer than that and come back. Listen to your body, and your doctors too; even if you don't agree with him/her or follow everything they say, it's still good to check-in and update them on what seems to work for you and doesn't, because their input might change based on that and help you more in the future.

Chiropractor here.

Do not ask online. The shoulder joint is highly complicated and diagnosis and treatment is impossible without an in-person assessment.

You mention having had your shoulder rebuilt previously and doing heavy exercises putting excess stress on the anterior shoulder joint. Doing high range of motion exercises on a previously badly injured shoulder, particularly when out of peak shape, isn't the best of ideas and what you describe could be actual reinjury, possibly a labral tear.

Skip going to the doctor. They are very rarely particularly good at orthopaedics and tend to misdiagnose shoulder injuries in particular, unless they're very experienced in working with athletes.

Consult a sports physiotherapist with experience in shoulder-intensive sports, such as rugby, handball or shot-putting instead. He will then refer you out should you need further imaging done.
