Mjällby AIF wins Allsvenskan
This might sound a tad odd for some, but this is the biggest upset in Scandinavian football history. We are talking about a tiny tiny tiny football club, from a tiny tiny hamlet with a tiny tiny budget, that wins the league

They are from the Hällevik, a small "hamlet" not big enough to be a village, with a population of 813... They are in the region called Blekinge and there are only smaller villages like Sölvesborg that also supports them.. Sölvesborg have a population of 8000

This is absolutely insane and almost fairytale style.


What do you think about this? Do you agree it is the biggest upset in Scandinavian football?

I think they could get a tourism explosion if the team said regularly 'we drink from this local spring and look at us win! '

Indeed GZ to them. I think it is great, that small clubs can still make upsets like this.

I am not so sure tbh. But football fans in Europe, will be looking at them in champions league next seasons (where they will most likely get battered)

People travel to Israel to sit in salty water where there is all manner of crap from so much of the worlds tourists of many skin complaints.

A spring of fresh water that 'might' be the source of such vigour ina small football team could catch on.

It was Volvic's advertising campaign about 20 years ago.

It´s a bit sad that they need to qualify for it though. Imho the champions of each country should qualify automatically. For the sake of it.

On a side note: i guess i won the champions league with them back then when i played football manager. So it´s not impossible...

I guess they can play their home game in some other stadium, no? The one in Göteborg or Stockholm is perhaps bigger, so they can profit a bit more of it, and i guess other Swedish people would like to see the match as well, perhaps depending on who they need to play against.
