Best to make it at home anyway. Chinese kitchen was the dirtiest kitchen I ever worked in. I once saw a fry cook bread the calamari in a dredge that was infested with gnats or something.

This is Mrs. Betty. She's been feeding me at the Magic Caboose since I was a wee tot. I trust Mrs. Betty.

No problem my fellow American(this is Obama. I've hijacked this idiot's steam account).
We had a Chinese place shut down for roaches and stuff in food, then reopen and now they advertising they are clean , good to go , etc one month later..

But do you trust the "authentic" Chinese "cooks" she had shipped over discreetly?

Check the health inspection rating posted near the POS. 95+ and it's safe. Anything under and I'm leaving.

It's just old Mrs. Betty. Most of her family are in Taiwan, and her original plan was to retire and go back, but she's put roots down here and become such a special part of the local scene we just won't let her go.

From the way that I am reading headlines and seeing it in person every time I go out- bars and restaurants are in trouble nationwide.

Some of it goes beyond them as yes, some of it yes, their costs have shot up- and yes, a good portion of that goes straight to the Orange man for not thinking a thing through.

But also, a good portion of the blame goes on the industry itself.

They have spent a long time jacking up prices, cutting service, hiring only horrible people, busting out with snobbery and attitude..

Heck, I was actually pleased on a Saturday night driving down the street where most of the strip clubs are clustered and the parking lots were empty.

They did it to themselves.

Well that sounds pretty good then. That's the kinda place you wanna get your Chinese food from.

That is one thing that they do well here.

Not only do they inspect restaurants here, but there also are news crews that are well known for showing up with cameras.

I've started making my own Chinese takeout now that all the places around me have been shutting down like crazy and all the supermarkets and big box stores like Target are stocking Asian stuff. It's super easy to make once you have all the different sauces and spices. Even the sweet roasted pork you can get at these places (called char siu) is easy to make. Sticky rice is a lot easier to get now, too.

Yeah we have the 'Food for Thought' segment on the local news, where to the tell you failing and low-ranking restaurants. I try to make it a point to catch that much news.

Around here Chinese Restaurants have always always been more expensive than non Chinese ones.

It wasn’t until I lived below the Mason Dixon line that Chinese restaurants were considered “cheap“.

This is a textbook example of why we need journalism more than ever.
