America is in trouble
People flat- line mentally and emotionally at 21 until either their social group falls apart, they have children or they die.

This has gotten worse every decade and every demographic following the next has grown increasingly immature or more stupid.
Now we have a society full of people that managed to avoid having children, still hangout with their high-school friends and somehow managed to stay alive. That group has not progressed mentally.

Agree, or fight me on it.

You're not entirely wrong.
There's a few of us that escaped our glorious "Educational System" with most of our brain cells. I pity those who do not have the self awareness to recognize their fate.

Does that mean I'm on track to make the 21 club?
Addiction to Fossil fuels, religion, guns and cars are the main stumbling blocks stopping the USA from becoming enlightened.

Aww, what are you sayin' ? The average USA-ian prays GOD everyday : Guns, Oil, and Dollars. G.O.D.

They are very enlightened :D

By jettisonning itself out of this Earth and leaving all normal nations alone, free from the US "normalised" madness.

Some "Florida Man" of the week will achieve this, some day. Anyday now.
America being in trouble is good.

I guess I could say I enjoy some of those things too, but what society lacks is balance and moving throughout their lives with reason or good intent. The consumer age is what destroyed America and that is now.

The consumer age ? What about the entitlement, the indoctrination, the US "exceptionalism" ? What about the failed schooling system ? The double standards, the reversal of guilt ?

I haven't seen or heard from anyone in my high school in over 40 years.
If I met one of them, I wouldn't know what to say. Nothing in common.
America being in trouble is good.

Double edged sword? Necessary evil?
Nobody wants their families to die through the fallout of America, but a good half of the country either Left or Right think it needs to happen before change is possible. Systems have to collapse and be flushed clean. I don't think that happening gracefully is an option unfortunately for any of us. Martial Law exist for that reason. Once the government is incapable, the people take over and fight it out or agree upon a resolution and re-elect.

We had the best educational system until "No Child Left Behind" which really meant nobody should be allowed to excel at academia. Participation awards for everyone.

We can all run and hide, but that's not courageous

Ikr, every kid getting 90+% in a course isn't a sign that the course has any level of difficulty. 95% has become the new 70%.

I can't even hire anyone who went to public school in the west anymore.
You sure it's not a "you" problem ? I mean, if you have a problem with everyone, maybe it's not everyone that is the problem. Case in point : you reply to an eglishman, in a topic by a user with chinese characters as a name, and your answer about that user dunkin' oon the US is ...

***rolling drums***

Yeah, we should take the middle east's example and behead people who don't adhere to some laws from the 1200s. They're much more enlightened.

Yeah, that definitely is "everyone else is the problem, not me" case.
