Go back to the drawing board, scrap everything and start again.

If the genre is what is hated, then what they would change would be to make them a different genre, which sort of defeats the purpose. Usually if someone doesn't like a genre, it's the core aspects of that genre they don't like. And it doesn't have to be anything wrong with it, or the game. Just a difference of taste.

I don't really like fighting games. I don't see any possible way to change them without making them no longer fighting games. Some people love them, I just don't. There's nothing to change about it, so I wouldn't.

i dislike 3rd person games. but thats just me, and i cant see how or why they should change them for just me as others obviously like them.

what i *would* like is the option for me to play in first person *and* third.

maybe you mod the game

Smash-like games: If they would make a complex moveset for each character, with unique weapons, make combat more complex in general, making game feel actually alive (looking at you Brawlhalla).
