What is taboo when it comes to horror for you?
What're some things that as soon as you see, hear, or read it, you immediately "nope" out of it due to genuine and utter disgust?

As soon as I see the word "horror" I'm utterly disgusted. :P

During the later levels, people complained about Blood multi-player.

(You had to go through a world that took place within demonic intestines.)
For some players, this was too much to bare. And they literally complained about it.

No. I made the match too difficult for the players to enjoy.
And no, I don't care if it's not real.
Random players. I don't track them. No, I had to listen to their complaints while they played. They didn't like the environment I'd chosen for them.
That was understandable. I was the host of the game. I had adjusted the game settings. I had respawning opponents enabled, with friendly fire turned on, and on the highest difficulty. With eight players constantly blowing each other up, constantly hearing the environment make "gut noises," and every enemy and player respawning after death, they felt trapped and demoralized in that environment, and it was disgusting to get out. I felt like I was to blame for their distaste, because I created the match. But the whole point was to make it difficult.
Yet, they were in my match of their own free will, and they could have left of their own free will if they had wanted to. No one forced them to stay in my match.

The point is:
Players sometimes complain about games. But it's a horror game, and it's supposed to be terrible.

Complaining about it is kind of taboo in itself, because it shouldn't be fun. People shouldn't be enjoying themselves anyway.

Nothing really, certain things obviously make me uncomfortable if the topic is a bit grim or tends to be dark. But i dont really drop something that easily, like in a uncomfortable scene in a movie ill still watch it and i like gory movies, dark literature and things like that.

One thing that does make me really uncomfortable and i have had to take a break when it happens in movies or books is abuse, like i get that its part of the story and is designed to show you how horrible the world or a certain character is but its really hard to get through for me. <3 :bluerune::luv:
I watch a ton of horror, not really a huge fan of just straight up torture with no plot. I find it boring and distasteful if there is no addition to the story.

That's typically how I am, but I really hate meat caves. Like I can't play Scorn. I love everything about it and it reminds me of a Tool video, but I could never play it myself. I especially hated going inside the fish in Ocarina of Time. But I realize the irony of this in how much I really want the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park concept to be made into a big budget game.

I remember thinking that the end scenes of the Romero film Day of the Dead were a bit much.

Decades later they started doing that in every other episode of The Walking Dead TV show.
Apparently I got desensitized.

However, I still have no time for "torture porn" movies. No entertainment value to me.

Dog dying. If I even suspect it's going to happen I don't bother watching.

Pets and animals in general dying actually, just dogs are pretty normal because it's a lazy emotional thing.

I can't think of anything that fits what you're describing exactly, but I will say what often makes me pause a horror movie and brace myself is when a character does something so awkward and embarrassing on top of the horrors they are experiencing, and so they end up looking like an ass. That makes me so uncomfortable.
Realistic torture and pointless realistic gore. A friend of mine wanted to show me August Underground and it really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disgusted me.

walls of flesh are one of my favourite horror tropes, there is an entire page about the concept on tvtropes about it. the feeling of being inside something living so large you could physically walk through it is disgusting and disturbing. i also like the mystery flesh pit national park, mate of mine who is really into SCP lore showed it to me and its pretty great. hope the bloke who makes it is able to do something great with the concept, because hes put a lot of time and effort into it.

look for the website "does the dog die"

amazing website for such things. its a website listing scenes of animal death/cruelty in films as a warning, not just dogs but cats and other animals too. i understand for some folk it is difficult to be seeing animals die, i do not like it either and if a cat dies on screen i will usually avert my eyes just because it makes me sad.

Real-life horror has a certain quality to it that is impossible to reproduce. Some Liveleak footage (I'm thinking specifically of a man being burned alive by ISIS and some cartel members blinding someone with molten plastic) triggered a level of disgust and rage towards my fellow human beings I hadn't thought myself capable of.
