I'm from Utah. I've lived in this ♥♥♥♥ hole my whole life. And I can tell you that every Republican in this state who thinks that they're a Democrat because they're the most liberal person in their Mormon family, in any other state they would be the most Republican person in the room.

That's how Mormons work.

If you're the only Mormon in your entire family who believes in climate change but every other thought in your head is Republican, that means that you're a liberal by their definition.

He was from a Mormon family that means he's Republican. Because if you really become a Democrat in this state and you renounce your Mormonism your family disowns you.

To be fair this would be under the assumption that being republican and being LGBT are fundamentally mutually exclusive, and I've certainly seen arguments of the contrary from the republican side whenever it is convenient.

This iteration of human is supremely disappointing. We're all still cavemen (houses are just another form of the cover we desire) with tribes that fears the unknown. The "Other" is dangerous even if there's no evidence. Nothing has fundamentally changed.
