Youth is OVERRATED.
Like heck, it is so idealized even though most people are not even at their peaks of life in youth. It's so shortsighted, and can likely contribute to making older age feel like nothing but a hopeless descent.

I personally think that many youth rights movements are as shortsighted as they can be. Unlike discrimination by race, higher age is something that effectively everyone will attain. Yet they think they know everything. But I think that appointing a bunch of random teenagers to run the world will quite quickly make it burn to the ground. So for all you young people here wanting more influence, I say give your ideas, but before wanting to rule everything, ya should wait; you might have changed way and opinion entirely by then. And then, you may regret your younger self for that.

My idea is greatly reflected in why it makes sense that you have age minimums for many things, but not allowed to have ethnicity requirements. Age is a growth for everyone, and intellect and wisdom accumulates slowly. Heck, I even think the voting age should be 20.

I was more intelligent when I was younger.

That's odd. Life experience and one's rationality usually accumulate, not expire.
Maybe you changed your life in ways that doesn't keep your brain enough going? You can try starting to solve Sudoku, or some thing similar. Yes, it keeps the elderly going even.

I think the voting age should be 21 just like the drinking age...Youth has its advantages...Younger body able to take the punishment...

Well some people age like wine. Others age like milk.

In general though, I agree with you OP.

I think kids are getting smarter, every generation of kids smarter than the ones before them.
talking to them, gives me inspiration.
much of my madness is caused by the long conversation I had with media content when alone.like books with a few million words of autism talk and wishful thinking all over them.

I began to feel peer pressure at maybe around 12,when the autism talks from books have been spilling out through my mouth.

My statement still stands.

Please tell me you are being sarcastic.
There is much concern about reduced attention spans of Gen Alpha, and therefore, a reduced intelligence.

A 40 ear old might think a 20 year old is too dumb to vote, but a 60 year old might think the same thing of a 40 year old. Guess the only people that should be able to vote are the retired ones, they have a lifetime of knowledge to base their decisions on.

Youth is OVERRATED.

Once your doctor tells you how many months you have left to live you will sing a different song...

If it was just about that, then yes. But now that metaphorical end of life comes at 30, not 80. I'm not taking this from the perspective of time left.

I think kids are getting smarter, every generation of kids smarter than the ones before them.

They're not smarter. They're dumb as a box of rocks. It's just that they give the appearance of being smarter, because media has taught them how to be more articulate, confident and poised when they talk. Listening to these kids, all I hear are slick talking points from all the celebrities and social media influencers they worship. Not smart people who actually know anything.

Another example of how much dumber they are is the lack of innovation and solutions. When older generations wanted to fight pollution, they came up with things like recycling, composting and green energy like solar panels, electric cars and other environmentally friendly innovations. The younger generation just screeches and whines a lot.

Same with the economy and other complex issues. They just screech, whine and point fingers at Baby Boomers and everyone else. Or decide that everything needs to be "free" or easier to come by (as in free income, free housing, being able to earn $30K a year as a hamburger flipper.)

I don't respect young people anymore, especially because of how they acted during the pandemic and how they treat the elderly in their last days on earth as health care workers.

It's going to be interesting to see how a nation of sociopathic young people--who basically allowed so many middle aged and elderly people die during the pandemic--handle middle age without the benefit of the millions of Baby Boomers and WW2 generation who died. What they're going to learn is that no matter how old you are, you always need the wisdom of someone much older than you. Even 50 and 60 year olds have a lot to learn from 70 and 80 year olds when it comes to thinks like becoming a widow, getting diagnosed with cancer and living with the loss of a child, etc. Well, I guess they can always turn to Tik Tok, Facebook and Reddit for guidance.
