Can any Mac users help me out?
Before you ask, no, I don’t game on a Mac. I have a current gen gaming pc. lol. I bought a 2020 MacBook Air, 13”. It has the Intel chip. I know I’m used to a high end PC. But this thing is SLOOOOWWW SLOOOOOWWW SLOOOOOWWW. It’s insane how slow it is. I bought it second hand. Guy bought it brand new, and barely ever used it. Thought he would, sat around for a few years in a carrying case. I’m the second owner. Thing is minty fresh. I’ve updated to the most current version of Mac OS. Do these things just suck?? I know it’s a low spec laptop. But it should definitely run better than it is. I bought it for travel purposes btw.

Pretty sure you can load linux on it if you wanted to speed it up... I don't know you have to take into to Apple or have a "Apple" tech person to work on those cause it isn't really legal for you to fix it or try to make it better....

I only use Right to repair products or nothing.

Maybe it has a virus. Could try a factory reset.
Macs typically are not fully set up until one breaks out a block of cheese and then grates it.
You won't have any wifi if you install linux on it... so get a usb ethernet port or don't try it at all.
I'm sure that has an SSD, reinstall OS X but since Intel OS X is on its last version it wouldn't be surprising if Apple slowed those machines down on purpose to force people to upgrade.
If you bought it for actual use put Linux on it, if you bought it specifically for use as a Mac maybe try an older OS if you're only gonna use it for some Mac only software anyways?

on an Intel Mac you sure about that? On Intel it should just work, has all the same components/drivers as a normal PC.
I am pretty sure... broadcom is NON FREE firmware... ( but ask around and try to load it at your own risk, assume you have an ethernet connection to the internet ).

Apple claims their macs don't get viruses as they are immune to them.
Wish I could afford an apple.

I'd be shocked if Broadcom didn't have drivers, i don't use Wifi so idk, even Debian by default includes proprietary drivers when needed now.

I've owned one before, and I know for a fact that is not true. It just happens less often... or at least that used to be the case.

They're crap now anyways
Yes and no it's NON FREE... I would plug in an ethernet cable or use a usb to ethernet cable... then I would blindly trust Pop!_OS... then send a 5000 page letter to broadcom about how you didn't want to send the laptop to the e waste to let me people die more then they are dying now.

I would rather use debian, but those system76 people work hard... hell put them in the long list of people I need to buy something from if I ever get rich.
