Are Lego games underrated?
They’re cheap and go on sale all the time.
They’re easy to run and work on almost any PC.
Plus, they’re family-friendly and have something for everyone, covering tons of major franchises and universes.

some of them, like this one:

are genuinely very fun. kid friendly GTA, really. a mate of mine is hugely into legos and has played quite a few of the lego games, he has told me that they are mostly very simple, very mindless, but fun.

Exactly.

And they're good games if you have children and want to introduce them to gaming.
LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

Both are phenomenal.
They're not my plate of goulash.

Most unique one I've played was probably Bionicle Heroes, I remember OST being really good but the game was mediocre.
Personally, I don't see any reason to play Lego like an adult, unless they had incredibly stingy parents as a child and can only now afford to buy everything they missed out on. However, for some, it might be a great way to relieve stress or to feel like a collector.
I still think LEGO and TT games are, oddly, missing an opportunity to make their own Minecraft-style sandbox, letting the user build virtually with every LEGO piece in existence.

It really makes no sense that they haven't done this. They sort of did it once, but it wan't as grand as my vision for it. Every numbered LEGO set could be sold as a DLC for this game, even ones out of physical production, and they don't even seem to understand this.

Like NIntendo, LEGO is one of the rare, strange, inexplicable corporations that doesn't want to make more money by doing the obvious. In LEGO's case, doing the Every Set As DLC Sandbox Game that I envision. In Nintendo's case, not selling their games to people who will never buy a Nintendo console, but who still want to play one or two of their games. Both seem to be run by idiots.

I like it more for the nostalgic feeling, plus it's very calm and relaxing, unlike what I'm used to with DBD and R6.

They kind of tried to do it, but they didn't do it right.

They are ok'ish.
-speaking from the ps3 lego games of star wars and harry potter.

For a nice fun thing they are good.
Playing them though always feels like i am compromising my time by not playing a 'real' game with that time allocation.

I do like that for what they are there is a lot to do and can keep younger audiences entertained without excess blood and violence or mental storylines.

If you like the Star Wars films, go and play the Lego Skywalker Saga. You’ll enjoy it no matter your age.

That's exactly the feeling of wasting time that I try to work on when I play Lego.
If we're having fun, isn't it worth our time?
Better than getting annoyed and frustrated with some competitive game.
I got a Lego batman on my old account and thought it was crap. The game needed to connect to its servers to load your save, so if the servers were down you couldn't play the game.

yes, its horses for courses.
For my game time Lego games like star wars and harry potter can be most frivolous an be long enough to keep entertained and feel accomplished.
Which is its advantage over say Super Mario Bros or Bubble Bobble - which si the downside to those arcadey games is they are not long enough or varied enough but they are very good for that spot.

While I be playing lego Star Wars and letting my brain just devolve I could be playing FF VIII or constantly feeling 'if only i had a good additional star wars game like another Rise of The Empire of SWBF2' .

Annoyed / Frustrated
that comes down to the mood one is in on playing.
Sometimes a person may want a very aggressive game to lose themselves in or a PVP experience to get that competitiveness / the Vader in them free.

Would I sit down to watch The Moomins after a particularly grim day or a NAtural Born Killers / Pulp Fiction type film?

Lego games are there and I am glad they were made just not for me 99% of the time due to lots of choice.
