Has capitalism failed in modern era?
Is it just churning the wheels in one giant pyramid ponzi scheme?

Churning the wheels to create excess materialism that is destroying the planet?

100% capitalism is failing hard, thats why people are turning to socialism in greater numbers. I simply put it down to greed and corruption at all levels especially from those's at the top.

The hilarious part is everything people point to to piss and moan about capitalism, is amplified in socialism. Corporations? Greed? See what happens when competition is eliminated and only one entity, the government, can set pricing.

Westerners only "turn to it" because of propaganda spread by their college professors, and being privileged growing up in middle class families, thinking the grass is greener elsewhere.

If we got rid of money I certainly don’t think I can trade 200,000 potatoes to buy a house.

A society without capitalism would be a) gift economy, b) feudalism, c) state-centered economy, d) slavery. All of these systems favor cooperative labour to exchange-based labour with only a minimal amount of what you show here as to maintain the system.

I don’t sleep well at night knowing someone is on their 5 million dollar yacht sipping a martini and having a party.

It’s their money though so I have no right to complain.

Why do you believe it has to be one extreme or another?

Why do you believe that money means people have the right to do what they want? They should be accountable to the laws of the state and land as they are in China.
Yes.

Actually it's your money. That they stole. In one way or another.

You don't get $5 million smaller yachts for your $500 million megayacht without grifting.
It's not capitalism in its truest form because the government, i.e. the taxpayer, is always bailing out corporations.

It's more like communism for the rich. Elon Musk would be living in the gutter by now were it not for government handouts.
It`s not capitalism it`s oligarchy, plain and simple.

Capitalism is oligarchy. There's no capitalism without it devolving into oligarchy due to the monopolization of capital in the hands of the bourgeois class.

Similarly, there is no capitalism without the role of the government in maintaining the civil illusion of property rights.

The irony of this post is kind of hilarious.

"propaganda"

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what socialism even is. Either through willful ignorance, or, more likely, from soaking up all of the already thoroughly debunked talking points of capitalism simps.

Yes capitalism failed in the modern era and let to the creation of communism and this new version of capitalism in post modern era is failing too but it isn't that bad as modern era capitalism.
