In most other elections, any sensible candidate would have defeated Mamdani in the primary.
His name is Andrew "The Elder Slayer" Cuomo.

He was all for Trump, and asked for his assistance in a city who hate both.
A part of the corrupt Democratic Establishment, like this Gang of 8 who just sold out to Trump in lieu of the shutdown. He, they are Republicans, not Democrats.

Bloomberg was the last mayor that was beloved by the city, and NYC was at its best by any objective measure under him. Since then it's been a clown parade of incompetence.
Its a downgrade of São Paulo, that speaks English. We've got São Paulo here, ans I don't wish to visit the concrete behemoph, devourer of souls, thank you very much.
With that delusion shattered, the only good thing that can maybe be said about N.Y.C. itself is that once upon a time the Yankees were the best baseball team, but the days of Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio are long, long gone.
Otherwise the place was seemingly always an overpopulated traffic ridden heckhole. I mean, respect has to be paid to the Statue of Liberty's name as one of the U.S.A's greatest icons, second perhaps only to the flag, but that was a gift from France, so it can't really be attributed to N.Y.C.
