If you're searching for anything political it's been a trashy video platform for many years honestly. Google/YouTube hides certain types of videos/topics and pushes others to the top of the search results based on their political bias.

It tries to become reddit and the new ui is dogwater.

I literally just went incognito, typed in "cats" and first few videos that pop up are AI trash.

The most annoying thing for me now is the automatic AI translations, and there's no way to turn them off, it's like Google can't fathom the idea of a person speaking more than one language.

Hot take but anything that is AI generated should “by law” say “this video is AI Generated” including ads.

it is a huge pain but you can switch the audio back to the original in the video specific settings as a viewer, which at first I thought I couldn't even do that much

Not really a hot take. With how good AI is getting. This might be actually necessary to deter nefarious use of it.

I want to see the original title, description. If they really want push translation there should button/option next to it to translate, but not as replacement.

The new UI sucks, it is also more unstable and now it doesn't remember my choices anymore, things like in the past I just turned off autoplay the first time and it just stayed that way forever even if I was not logged in, something that I usually don't do, now I have to turn off atuplay every single time I see a video.
Automatically choosing the translated version of videos by default was already annoying enough, but since then it got even much worse, it has become just a mess at this point.

Don't care it wants you to dox yourself.

Missing the biggest reason to dislike new youtube.

I absolutely hate the new UI, there was nothing wrong with old one.
New one looks like it was made for screen licking toddlers and everything is so big that you need to scroll twice as much when searching for something.
