An NYPD exodus is already underway, with a surge of officers quitting in the month leading up to anti-cop socialist Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral win — and more might go if Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch exits, according to data and department sources.

The NYPD saw a 35% hike in cops of all ranks leaving in October – 245 police officers...

“Morale is down because everyone is concerned about the policies Mamdani wants to put in place,” said Detectives Endowment Association President Scott Munro.

“You have a person who is supposed to be running New York City that does not believe in law enforcement,” said Munro, a police officer for more than three decades. “What’s coming out of everyone’s mouth is, ‘We’re in trouble.'”

Will certainly be interesting to see how the quality of life plays out for citizens now that the "defund the police" mayor is getting his wish.

NYC is going to see a crime spike and a cop shortage. Not to mention businesses will flee that city from the crime, burglary, and looting, as well as their attempts to charge Donald Trump with the crime of normal real estate practice within the city has already caused many to flee. As a city, with all things considered, it's going to become a real ♥♥♥♥ hole rather quickly.

Well if it's so easy for them to quit their jobs and so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard for the rest of America to do so without replacement roles lined up, then good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck to the scabs in their new careers as unemployed donuts.

I mean why would we celebrate morons who just effectively randomly quit without anything lined up for them in the most competitive jobs market in the USA.

Oh wait no we are supposed to celebrate cretins if they're on our side doing things we like that hurt the people we want to hurt wooo go sports team.

The leadership wants the residents to for sure. That way they can win elections by promising to fix the very mess they created. And you're not going to like the fixes they have in mind if they need to completely trash the city to make people open to them.

There are huge police shortages in the suburbs around NYC, so almost all of those cops (who aren't retiring) will just get jobs there. Much better quality of life and comparable if not better pay.

Wow, seems a lot of businesses actually are packing up and leaving for Florida and Texas already. There won't be many good jobs left in the city. Nothing to do but crime, and few police to actually stop them.

Hundreds of cops is a small number when there are over 30,000 employed there. Using my advanced 400 IQ computer brain processor, only 0.8% of people have left, which is barely an increase from last year. Talk about mass exodus.
