This individual is the only one born with the gift on telepathic mind control: like taking over someone's brain and manipulating their thoughts and emotions whilst being inside them (as in you assume mobility of someone else, like how a puppeteer controls a puppet). He or she is able to alter someone else's thoughts or actions making it look like they acted that way themselves.

This person never has to wield a physical weapon, since their ability is akin to astral projection or spiritual possession (of one's soul or mind). In this case, they targeted a politician: conventional authorities cannot see them since it's similar to *someone taking over your brain* as if the politician is developing delusions or losing their sanity since someone else is controlling them.

That individual's goal is NOT to assassinate them, but make the subject lose their sanity or "toy with their emotions or thoughts" (through delusions, nightmares, etc.) while the subject is alive making them look like they're crazy as in the "have you lost your mind?!" type as that itself is the psychological weapon that is overlooked by conventional security or law enforcement.

Mind control in the sense of encountering armed guards would be though possession of his mind, assuming his psychological state which influences his thoughts & actions, having the power to change or alter his decisions at will (from the outside, they look normal) plus his behavior will be displayed as normal with his actions and thoughts manipulated by someone from afar.

Think of it equivalent to a *spirit possessing someone* but through a person's brain via conscience to control physical movement and psychology (for manipulating their emotions, decisions, thoughts or what the subject will say) whilst having full access to their memories that only the subject affected knows (personal information, family, banking, "juicy intel", etc.)
