Half-Life was released on Thursday 19 November 1998.
Coincidence?
“The main Grand Theft Auto (GTA) and Half-Life reference is in GTA: San Andreas, where a crowbar is found on a table in a lab during the "Black Project" mission. This is a direct nod to the crowbar used by protagonist Gordon Freeman in Half-Life. Additionally, the lab's design resembles the Black Mesa Research Facility from the Half-Life series.”

I believe it, it's happening. As a reminder, they released Alyx in 2020 and the ending teases the third game with Gordon getting his crowbar back.
They probably wanted to add more stupid mini games, fake girlfriends, fake internet pages, fake instagram stuff into it.
Hunt Down the freeman is Half Life 3. Valve even allowed it to be sold on steam.
It's 2025 now.
Where is the next game?
The longer the wait, the better it needs to be.
