I Want To Start A Gaming Laptop Charity
There used to be a charity called "one laptop per child" but it failed mostly because the laptops were very underpowered.

I want the laptops for my charity to be a "console-killer", meaning performance that matches consoles.

If I suddenly become very wealthy the first thing I'll do is go to my old elementary school and give every kid a gaming laptop.

I currently have a HP laptop with a RTX 5070ti which is near the performance of a PS5Pro.

If I could have any job in the world it would be working at a photolithography plant for gaming laptops, if I could choose which sector it would be for GPUs but I'd settle for anything.

Kids already are too electronics addicted.

You can be very productive with a gaming laptop, you can develop your own games, you can make CGI animations and video editing, programming and a ton of other stuff.

I hear that.

But what % of people put things to best use?

The true number is quite sad.

There could be issues with the high silicon diet.

If kids don't learn how to type or how to use a computer in general it would be impossible for them to get a office job, and a ton of other jobs too.

What was cool about the one laptop per child charity was they weren't donating the laptops to the "school" they were giving it to the "kids". Meaning they could take it home and do whatever they wanted with it.

I would like to do the same thing.

I think last gen killer laptops might be a better idea, you can get 3 for the prices of a current gen killer. That will still allow them to play 85+ percent of games out there.

Part of the reason I want to do this is to get more people into game design, which is why I disagree when people say I should give out cheaper laptops.

You need a powerful PC to develop demanding games.

Most kids I know neither have nor want a gaming console, laptop or PC. They want a phone upgrade or e-store cards.

In high school they made us take typing. This was my freshmen year in 1984 and nobody had ever heard of the internet.

I thought that it was the most stupid thing that I had ever heard of. At age 14 I thought that I would never do any of such nonsense.

Little did I realize that years later I would own mechanical keyboards and be typing out complex documents at warp speed and the sound would be whada-bap-bap-bap... I like my keys nice and stiff and loud!

I type faster when not thinking about it, while looking completely away from the screen...

I wanted to bring up, the reason I wanted the laptops to be a console-killer is because I feel like you don't really need any more performance than that.

As long as your computer is on par with the most powerful console (which is the PS5Pro) you should be in the clear until the next console comes out.
