Personally, I stopped watching halfway through Season 2 when it was clear the show was no longer about the Witcher.
The show runners tried to make Cavill pose naked too.
Has there really ever been a good TV series that are based fantasy (Game of Thrones came close, but they stopped following the book by season 4). At least the dumb 90's TV series didn't take themselves serious, and had a low enough budget to justify bad costumes, unlike say Willow.
Also new this season is Laurence Fishburne, who joins the cast as Regis.
I liked it but it was too gruesome. Regis was a nice touch. The magic war was great. And though Cavill will be missed with multiverses its easier to accept a credible approximation in Hemsworth.
Most people will watch it over the holidays anyway. And it came out November 1st so its way too early to make the viewership judgement.
But regarding witcher, yes, it was doomed. Netflix knows it as well, but they're committed to 5 seasons, just like amazon with rings of power. They should have just killed Geralt at the end of S3, to be honest. This was never his story anyway, and it would have saved them the trouble of replacing the actor.
But no, I'm not watching S4 or S5. I regret watching 1-3, but at least they had Henry. 4 and 5 literally have nothing going for them.
Could've been great if it was faithful to the original.
