What's your reason for going out on Black Friday?
I'm a lonely guy with no money so it's mostly to look at women and people fight over great discounts.

Just keep a safe distance. Last year I went too close and almost ended up being a part of it
I don't go out on Black Friday, unless I forget it's Black Friday.

I dunno, I haven't been paying any attention to it this year. I don't think I've even walked into a participating retailer yet.

I normally go crazy for it, though not the TVs and ♥♥♥♥ because who even wants a TV the size of a wall anyway? But I've recently decided I just don't have time for stuff at all anymore. I already won't ever finish my backlog, and all my appliances and stuff work fine. *shrugs* Maybe if Black Friday could have a sale on free time I'd be interested.

this is true

A high-profile case of death by trampling on Black Friday occurred in 2008 when a Walmart employee, Jdimytai Damour, was killed by a stampeding crowd of shoppers in Valley Stream, New York. This incident is considered the first stampede fatality on Black Friday.
Details of the Incident
Date and Location: Early Black Friday morning, November 28, 2008, at a Walmart store in the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, Long Island, New York.
Victim: Jdimytai Damour, a 34-year-old temporary maintenance worker hired for the holiday season.
Events: A crowd of over 2,000 people had gathered outside the store for "doorbuster" sales. As the store prepared to open, the crowd pressed against the doors, chanting and eventually breaking through the glass entrance. Damour, who was attempting to assist a pregnant woman being pushed by the crowd and form a human chain barrier with other employees, was knocked to the ground and trampled.
Aftermath: Shoppers continued to stream into the store, stepping over Damour and ignoring calls to stop, with some even complaining about the delay. Police and emergency workers who arrived at the scene and attempted CPR were also reportedly jostled and pushed. Damour was pronounced dead at the hospital due to asphyxiation. Four other people, including the pregnant woman, sustained injuries.
Response and Impact
Investigation and Legal Action: The incident prompted an investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which fined Walmart for inadequate security measures. Damour's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Walmart and the mall owners.
Legislative Change: The tragedy led a local politician to introduce a "Doorbuster Bill," which aimed to require large retailers to implement appropriate security and crowd control measures for major sales events.
Ongoing Discussion: The event remains a notable and tragic example of the potential dangers associated with the extreme commercialism and crowd behavior during Black Friday sales. A website, Black Friday Death Count, was created to document this and other Black Friday-related deaths and injuries.
