Do you believe the death penalty is ever justified?

Even for criminals who are so dangerous that they pose threats other inmates or even guards? Or do you believe that taking a life is never justified regardless of the crime, even if it’s an evil crime?

If you believe it’s justified. Why?
If you believe it’s never justified. Why?
If you say “it depends”. Why?

For me… I don’t know. But I don’t want someone who is locked up and still killing people.

The people carrying executions out and are happy to carry it out - those are the ones who concern me more.

Justified?
It is an act of vengeance by the state.
Vengeance as laid down in The Arthurian Legends is a bad thing.

-read Arthur AND watch Excalibur because its a good film.

Voluntary Executions?
Possibly.
Any prisoner has the right to Execution by their own demand and I would expect various measures are in place to ensure it is what they do want and a time period for that decision to be finalised.

Taking a life is justified if the other party is actively hurting others on wide scale

If you're willing to kill for pleasure or fun, then you do not get a second chance. You are a threat plain and simple

Until it's possible to rehabilitate 100% of all convicts, then capital punishment will have a purpose.

Unfortunately, achieving a 100% rehabilitation rate will likely require methods that will be prohibited and protested by various organizations.

Only for serial killers and dictators. When they are alive they still influence people in a bad way even from prison and through media.
You can`t rehabilitate serial killer or fix them and dictators to give a message to next wannabe candidates to prevent next mass misery and millions of deaths.

nope. its hugely flawed and doesnt "fix" anything.

i want wrongdoers to wake up every day knowing they got caught and having to atone for their actions in a way that helps society move forward.
