Achievement is the cancer killing the videogame industry
They're faking to be playing videogames and just like a politician pretending to be gamers.

These politicians ends up making decisions who ruins the sequels. Just so that them obtain the achievements and bails out.

They're as well using videogames as weapons to have control by deciding which games are going to sell.

We live in the reality that consumers don't matter since the majority are doing it for political reasons than to play the game.

The richest owns the companies, recently EA was bought by saudi Arabia but these "Battles" occurs as well at lowground levels where soldiers in this digitial world are hired to obtain achievements and given free copies to make a negative review.

Who gave them this power?

Games always had achievements, its just that now you can show them off to everyone instead of photographing your screen and sending it to receive a spot in leaderboards at your local arcades or something.

Also who cares lmao, just play the game.

I thought it was loot boxes and cards like GTA V card sharks etc ruining games

I guess I'll play devil's advocate here, since I'm not really biased either way. The one argument I have in favor of achievements is that there have been ones which required me to play the games outside of my comfort zone, and to explore areas or search for other dynamics within the game that might have otherwise gone unnoticed by me, if I hadn't realized, "hey, wait a minute, what did I miss here?" because of a "missed" achievement.

*Actually, now that I'm rereading your post, OP, I don't fully understand your complaint. I don't know what politicians are faking being gamers has anything to with achievements, but maybe I'm missing something, idk.

Achievements are fine. I'd argue they've been cheapened a bit over the years. But still a net positive overall as far as game content goes.

It's microtransactions, mostly the P2W and gambling kind that are cancers within gaming. Some microtransactions like soundtracks aren't so predatory I guess. If you want to count soundtracks as a microtransaction.

I think I've deciphered that mix of anti-corporate, anti-influencer, and anti-achievement system sentiment, I don't disagree though. Yes, gaming often feels corporate and it's dominated by image and marketing rather than creativity and consumer satisfaction.

It's not all the 'gamers' fault but we are partly to blame. Indirectly 'gamers' gave them power through our spending habits, the hype cycles, and low standards. The system is built to exploit convenience and you get what you pay for!

It must be fun to play a game where your decisions on what you do in the game is enforced by political powers to control exactly what you do.

That's the political control over your decisions.
Proper crazy POV. Am not a fan of achievements in video games myself because I was never really interested in them, but saying they are ruining the video game industry is nonsense. One of their biggest pros is increasing single player game engagement.

Nobody force you to hunt fir achievements and you can disable the popups for them (I did)

We are all different.. I also think achievements are pointless in gaming, but on the other hand I accept many like instant glorification and to get a pad on the head after doing something.
