18 Years Old and Already Regretting My Life Choices (Thanks CS2)
So I turned 18 today (30 October) and was like ok this is it, the big “you’re an adult now” moment, right? Nah, nothing. Still me, and feel more depressed by day and now just LEGALLY throwing money at CS2 cases like it somehow makes me a genius investor like OhnePixel. Already dropped over a thousand euros on Steam and traded for a stiletto knife, calling it an investment until the stupid CS2 update that crashed the market, because apparently adulting feels like I’m starring in my own Jason Statham action movie where I’m actually the stuntman that keeps dying. Every choice feels like a side quest with ass loot, every pocket money i get vanishes faster than a covert skin, and my sense of financial and emotional stability is basically a rare drop I’ll never get.

I wake up thinking maybe today I’ll finally be “responsible,” and by dinner I’ve somehow bought another case/skin, the rest of my money? GONE. And questioned every life decision I’ve ever made. My friends talk about budgeting, saving, and career goals, and I’m just out here speedrunning a CS2 map, and praying the next update doesn’t break the market entirely.

Adulting is apparently just a series of harder quests with worse loot, higher entry fees, and zero tutorials, where the tutorial itself was sold as a ETS2 DLC I couldn’t afford.

Sometimes I imagine Jason Statham yelling at me to “GET UP, KEEP MOVING, DONT QUIT!” while I sit in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ puddle of my own poor decisions, wondering if this is what life is supposed to feel like. And then I check my inventory, see the stiletto knife, the skins I definitely overpaid for, and realize I’ve officially hit peak chaotic gamer-adult.
Honestly, is this adulthood, or just an endless beta test that nobody gave me the right to play?

I have no words left to say :inno:

Give it another year or two. At 16-18, people still expect you to act like an adult, while still treating you like a child.

I would say 19-32 are the best years of life, assuming they're spent wisely. Learn the real values of things. Develop and cultivate your own tastes and interests. Become your own person, and tell societal expectations to ♥♥♥♥ off if they're unreasonable.

If you want to blow funds on making a scale Babbage Engine or Antikythera box with Lego, let nobody tell you off for spending on kids toys. At the least, it's more worthwhile than CS2 skins.

You're addicted to buying virtual items with zero value. You aren't an adult.

Peak Comedy :csgob:
The idea that there is anything fundamentally different about your 18th lap around our star is entirely just made up and you can ignore it.

Our society is a story we tell ourselves. A swarm of convenient lies. We are stories we tell ourselves.

You can stop doing that at any time. Just stop believing.

We are bags of meat and ♥♥♥♥ screaming through space with no rhyme or reason, no meaning or purpose. You get to deal with that however you want, then you die.

Existence is just finding tolerable ways to spend time while you wait to cease existing.
this deserves more awards
Learn from the regret and do not become the regret.
Nah, life doesn't even really start until your early to mid 20's.

Your brain hasn't even finished forming yet, so biologically, you don't have all the parts to really see things the proper way yet. That'll happen around ~26, give or take.

EC is right, from 19 to your early 30's is the best it'll likely ever be, physically and opportunity wise, so don't stress it quite yet. You've got lots of time for anxiety, I wouldn't stress about worrying now.

why do you do it? serious question, what drives you to drop a thousand euros on steam?
u realized what you've done is stupid, and that is growth.

you will do a lot of stupid things and you will regret them but again thats how growth occurs, you mess up and you learn from it.

adulthood is a man made legal term, you dont just become an adult when you hit 18 years because the calendar is man made as well

i'd say mid/late 20s is when we really become adults.
:inno: At 18 it's not too late to sort things out.
I seen regret!

Do not DARE regret!

Find yourself from your mistakes.

MAKE SURE, FIRST..... You mind yourself, believe.
