But I like villain in 3 though.
If we're talking mainline, I like Y3 the most.

i am glad that folk are realising how amazing yakuza 3 is now. it was not well liked when it first came out, both for removed content and its relatively (at first) laid back story.
yeah, i actually prefer vanilla way more than golden because i really dislike the majority of the story additions in golden. and a lot of the grim, grey atmosphere of vanilla seems a bit washed away in golden in general. the whole mood of golden seems way more upbeat and goofy, which i did not particularly like. not just aesthetically, but plot wise too. the concert, the beach trip, the ski trip, the scooters, the fireworks festival, the trip to the city, everything about marie etc.
in vanilla the moments of levity and the characters getting to relax felt more like a reward after something serious happened, in golden they just happen all the time and constantly. why are they so happy and carefree all the time in golden!? theres a serial killer in town! in vanilla even during cute funny moments it still felt like the characters were stressed out emotionally over everything happening, and kind of forcing themselves to mask it and try and have some fun.
the only things i rather liked in golden were the buffs to kanji, teddie and naoto to make them able to match up well against yosuke, chie and yukiko.
anyway thats my persona 4 rant. REEE!
also yosukes family is definitely part of the yakuza. junes is a front for illegal operations assuredly
As for Yakuza... I'm inclined to say 4, but I think I need to revisit 3 because I wrote it off really fast back in the day.
