What is this "reach for you/me" thing that's in like every love song?
Is the lover too short to get something off the top shelf until the colover rides in on a stallion to reach in his/her stead?

Sometimes the love that you yearn for from the person that you cherish, that love may seem too distant to be comforting or even real. So reaching for signifies your attempt to make that love a reality for yourself and that person, to try and attempt to shape your love story in your own personal way.
