That's what happens when you win.

It's unsurprising to Orlok because like Obama the only prizes he ever won are for turning up.

On the one hand, I do actually have to give the man some credit for helping to end a war that had no clear terminus in sight otherwise.

On the other, baby always needs his bottom delicately powdered and diapered every time he does something, or he gets fussy.

It is entirely possible for a selfish, egomaniacal narcissist to do a good thing while still demanding their ego be fluffed in the process.

Sadiq Khan was knighted.

Awards are a form of recognition.
Recognition only goes as far as those who recognize it.

Seems to me you already recognized it.

The highest honour in Israel is still to be one of the "Righteous Among the Nations". These are REAL heroes.

Still unclear how exactly things will progress, but the ceasefire is probably a prerequisite in any case.

Well done, Trump. This is peace deal number eight in only nine months. And the culmination of a smart, multi-faceted strategy. Only Trump could do it.

Let's rebuild Gaza and give peace a chance in the Middle East.

Russia and Ukraine will be next.

Trump is the peace president.

Palestinians should award him as well

I thought Israel and Netanyahu wanted Palestine destroyed and all the Palestinians dead?

In which case Trump has just defeated those plans.

Shame that logic isn't an asset of the left.

Saddam Hussein was a colossal embarrassment to U.S. relations in the Middle East. Qatar is proving more valuable in stabilizing and improving the situation on the ground. So this seems like more a continuation of Bush era politics than Trump era politics.

The recent purchase of Electronic Arts by the Saudi Arabian "Public Investment Fund" (PIF) does have the potential to sour relations between the West and Middle East.

Qatar has a clear assignment and from my p.o.v. they're far from the good guys.

The only reason they went with Trump's plan is because of concessions; like a military presence on US soil.

The Saudi's at least have shown not to directly wanting to openly, politically involved itself, outside of their own (direct) benefit.

Some people are only mad because the Saudi's made fun of a demented, not in control of either himself or his country, man.
Which, tbh, I feel they have every right to.

Yeah, building a Qatari Air Force unit and holding area here in the US definitely had nothing to do with that "gift to the US, not Trump" plane that wasn't a violation of the Emoluments Clause in the slightest.
