I take back everything I said about game devs taking forever to make even simple games.
I used to see posts on here and reddit about those small really simple games that look flash tier and the people who made them often said it took years to make them. I used to scoff at it because of how unimpressive it was.

But now that I'm trying to make something in Godot. Even following instructions on a premade practice game is hard. it took me an entire day to do this granted i got severe attention issues.

So for all the devs I used to scoff at, I'm sorry. You are right to take years to make simple games. and I hope they work out for you.

Kinda yeah. But game development has become a lost knowledge. If you look back at the golden age, you see that developers were pushing out dozens of games in a single year. Either it's become that universities aren't effectively teaching game development, or everything has progressed so much that developers can't learn it fast enough to keep up with standards. I always say they should go back to making ps1/2 style games while learning how to develop modern games until they can effectively make them. It shouldn't be that each company can only release 3 or 4 games in a human lifespan.
it took me months to even make basic structures in unreal engine and I had to use multiple tutorial videos to do it. it's not easy. bad decisions helped me a lot https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIn-yd4vnXbjWeYqU7epakdnVzoysMToy

Yes things tend to be hard when you're not good at them.

Yeah. Game development isn’t easy. Anyone who thinks it is, is a fool.

Must be why there's so many games out on the market

Yes. Obviously.

Feats of fitness and strength are super easy too, which is why we have so many pro athletes.

Not quite. Pro athletes have only a limited amount of spots. The gaming market is open for any dummy with an internet connection.

What game are you trying to sell that isn't doing so well?

What's a boolean? Sounds like British slang. Right, mate, you're talking booleans.

It’s a true or false programming value.

Ah, now that you mention it, I remember seeing this in a youtube video where a developer was criticizing PirateSoftware for how he was coding his game. I wish I understood this stuff better. I'd love to develop a game but it all seems so intimidating.

I’m not worried about sales.

Anyone with enough money can make a new sports team.

Anyone with enough money can publish any game.

Anyone with enough money can’t program though, unless they learn how.

Once they learn to program, they’ll see it’s not so easy to create quality code.

Publishing, isn’t programming.

Thinking something is easy just because there’s a lot of it, entirely misses the point.

Lots of people cook. Few people cook well. Despite the fact that there’s lots of restaurants.

Did you know some restaurants are ♥♥♥♥ and go under from lack of sales? Because cooking isn’t easy, despite the fact that any idiot with a spatula can use leverage to flip meat.
