You become defective as you age, not wiser.
It's commendable to grow old but all too often I think people worship the elderly under false pretenses.

"Old people are wise!" Sorry but your memories are unreliable. You only have so much capacity for storing knowledge without it becoming inaccessible or even incorrect. None of this gets better as you age, it gets worse.

"Old people are experienced!" True, but more experiences don't amount to more strength. This is true for the body AND mind, lots of experience can lead to a lot of fracture and scarring - especially as you age.

Old people still deserve extra care and respect, I will never deny that. But it's because they're fragile and ever-deteriorating, not because they're some sort of next level human guru. Even anecdotally you only need to spend more time with the elderly to know this.

Tbh I suspect most people know, but just don't want to say it. Happy holidays

If I say enough nonsense for enough years, I will get really good at telling people nonsense.

being older means more knowledge of what actions tend to lead to which results and consequences

plenty of time to develop pattern recognition and experience.

I would trust someone who has lived through and overcome a recession to be in political power than some mini-karen who just left uni after doing a course on some ♥♥♥♥ that nobody cares about

Not what the data shows

I think what ends up happening is that you become less moral as you age, and that's why we see the rampant corruption; not because old people don't know, but because they don't care
