I got filtered by Blender day 1.
This ♥♥♥♥ is hard, I mean it's like a dictionary is puking on your screen and it's overwhelming. Yes I watch tutorials but they always seem to be outdated even the doughnut one.

Is there mods or add ons to help make it more user friendly?

Lots of add-ons. Im not sure about making it easier. It really depends on what you want to do.

If its just sculpting, or if its animation, or if youre only into graphic design for brands, etc. Some things can be ignored if you dont plan to use them.

Its one of those things where you need to just follow along with a bunch of walkthroughs to learn the various ways the program works, and after you do those enough, you can begin with your art. Youll memorize how the commands work after doing them repeatedly.

Basic things like learning about vertices, and how to select, extrude, copy, mirror, swap, how to bring in a reference model, how to apply lighting, how to create textures, etc. All have to come first, before you can really achieve a flowstate. Thats the hardest part about it really, is learning how the program works.

For that, I just watched a bunch of step by steps in yt. I slow the videos down to .80 speed, pause them and do the work, and then unpause. A 2 hour tutorial may take a whole day or two to achieve the sane result, at first.

There are classes online as well. Zenva Academy, etc.

Good luck.

It's not that hard.

You just need to find a good tutorial.

https://www.youtube.com/@RyanKingArt

That channel does a decent job of giving tutorials. Search for their "intro to" or "beginner" stuff. IDR what it's called. You'll probably need to do some pausing, but for a free channel, it's not a bad place to start.

There's a website called Udemy too, if you wanna spend money on a course, there's usually good stuff there if you're into learning through lecture/projects you follow along with.

After using AutoCAD and Photoshop for about 30 years, I just couldn't get into Blender. Nothing makes any logical sense there, and the tutorials are useless.

I've been curious how much AI has changed the landscape for things like graphic design and animation. Its not like I was going to make a career out of it, but it was really deflating to see how AI could make something so quickly with zero effort on behalf of the end user.

AutoCad was always impressive to me. Ive always associated it with professional engineering and design.
all programming is essentially hard
