Well, not exactly. But, that's basically what is happening in Oslo right this moment.

The large Europe sportsball organization has reportedly been mulling a ban on Israel representatives from taking part in their competitions, but have not reached a verdict.

Norway as a country has been vocal about Israel and their atrocities in Gaza, but they also believe it is still fine to play them in sportsball. As a side note, back in 2022 Poland was set to play a big sportsball match with Russia and refused to play them following their Ukraine invasion. This helped to precipitate a swift decision by the sporting body which led to the exclusion of Russia.

It seems like given these precedents and circumstances, it really makes Norway's decision to declare their sports fixture a charity event for Palestine seem like a bit of clown show.

Norway could have made a brave statement but instead decided to be complicit in sportswashing human tragedy. Very shameful.

Wonder how your argument would be if Hamas had made thier oct 7 on Egypt. Then you would say Egypt are doing genocide in Gaza for trying to get thier people home from terrorists.
