It would be from a very long time ago; there were star wars game books. That is, it was a Choose Your Own Adventure type book but you rolled dice to determine whether you succeeded in going to a specific page and I think you might have been able to carry over bonuses to future books.

Also the "Yo, Millard Filmore" book where you used homonyms to remember the presidents (there was one on the states and their capitals; A Nude Hampster riding a Concord - Concord, New Hampshire)

This, forever ago when it first started and wasn't just political slop yet.

I still remember trying to gather all of the 39 Clues books back then. To this day I think I only ever read 6 or 7 of the original 10 books.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and all of those Ripley's Believe it or Not books were my favorites to get as a kid.

Hard to pick. I bought so many.

Time For Kids: Almanac 2004, there was also a series of book that had a bunch of cheat codes for ps2, Xbox, and Gamecube, but I can't remember the title. I think Secret Codes by Brady games.
