if it's not pressing enough that you don't need to immediately cut off contact, then there's really no reason to not just leave things as they are and let yourselves naturally drift away and minimize contact. if it's bad enough that you want or need them out of your life completely then there is really no reason to worry about it, just do it. but it already sounds like they wouldn't notice one way or the other
Its kinda complicated but to put a long story short, there has been complaints filed against my folks by this persons family.
The other guy is turning to weird online ♥♥♥♥, and I want no part of it.

If you're trying to cut ties, you obviously don't care about them, so just act like it and stop all communication and interactions.
