I have spent 7 to 15 thousand on games on steam (depending on what the figures on the outside funding page actually mean, they don't add up in a way you'd expect) and haven't played most of the games I own.

A freebie is a freebie. Even if its not on my shopping list today, who knows what might happen.

Do those games count for the "total of games owned"? If i remember correctly some free games dont add to that total, like i have 210 or so games that i own but it goes up to 250ish with free to play games. Also i doubt most people ever download them best to just select the "add to library" option instead

Games that are always free don't add 1 to the library, but those that are free for a limited time are usually added.

Interesting, then i guess its a way for people to get closer to the steam badges like "owner of 1k games" and what not without spending a dime.
