Anyone else ever been banned for nothing?
I was recently banned for nothing. And I do not mean "banned unjustly", that's a normal experience for conservatives, I mean banned for nothing. No message as to why I was banned, no explanation of it, I asked the steam support to tell me why I was banned 4 times and each time they replied "we checked the reason for your ban and have determined that it was applied correctly", but without being able to say what the reason for the ban was.

Also while I was banned I noticed that the (Banned) text next to my name would be there some times, and not there other times, and some times I would be able to type replies (which would get an error message when you tried to post) and other times it would just completely prevent me from typing a reply altogether which is what it is supposed to do.

I have seen a few other people who have had the (Banned) text appear and disappear so I am wondering if it is some kind of steam server glitch that is affecting multiple people. It would also explain the weirdness from the steam support messages. If they're simply chatbots and not people and just posting template messages then they'd see the ban but either wouldn't be able to see the non-existent ban notification or would just not have the capability to explain the reason.

Also it was a 3 day ban and I have never seen a 3 day ban before, it's either 1 or 7.

You wrote quite a lot 2nd October, surely someone didn't do that out of nowhere, why that is? I don't know, but at least there's one clue.

You'd think surely not, but as far as is apparent they did. I got no notifications and the steam support couldn't say why even when asked 4 times.

That's an ongoing visual issue with the ban status not showing consistently.

Contact Steam Support, if it was not for bannings I would feel I was not getting my money's worth from steam.
Games are secondary to my experiences of Steam.

Most of mine have been from arguments with people or saying silly stuff so not really, i have seen users get banned for seemingly nothing though, but i am not sure if that's because people were spam reporting them :bluerune::luv:

I'm still banned from Uma Musume forum for posting some elder scrolls clips in response to a thread. 30 day ban for "off topic posting"

I still play Uma Musume every day and like to upload screenshots of the umas I train. I can't upload screenshots until the ban is finished. WTF.

I would argue there was no crime. It's not like I was spamming the forum. I was posting in 1 thread and got slapped by a corrupt mod on a power trip.

Stroke that epeen, mod. Stroke it hard. You big manly man, you. Look at how big a man you are. The forumites tremble in fear at the sight of such long bans!

Steams become quite relaxed if all you got was a 3 dayer.

Trust me when i say no matter how innocent you may feel your comment is, once steam has made its mind up it almost always never changes it.
Aint no coming to off topic thats going to generate a legion to take on the dark forces.

Take your bans, learn from them and eventually your be able to say stuff in the right way that wont get you another.

Harassment, personal attacks? Yes. Suddenly they're enforcing every minor trivial thing because it's personal. I think everyone experiences it.

Not true. I've been banned for just posting links to SFW youtube videos.

Like I said, elder scrolls clips got me a 30 day ban.

Mods have power and will abuse that power. If they don't like what you have to say, even if you convey what you say in a nice way, or even convey it in a way that doesn't require words, they will still ban you.

Not true. I've been banned for just posting links to SFW youtube videos.

Mods have power and will abuse that power. If they don't like what you have to say, even if you convey what you say in a nice way, or even convey it in a way that doesn't require words, they will still ban you.

Ive been resided over by the same mods as you and never have i felt i was being singled out.
I have been a mod and then administrator of other sites and have never had the time to become personal. You make a decision and you move on.

I wonder what has happened to steam this year. I don't remember it ever being as broken as it currently is.

All but one of my bans was for a false reason (the one justified ban I just flat out insulted a guy, was my first ban too), and in this case there's no way you can learn from a ban you don't know the reason for anyway.
