Work rant!
Edit - Thanks you guys

If you were in this situation, would you just hand in your resignation immediately, or would you consider taking a few sick days before resigning?

You have worked at the company for over 2 years.

Everyone has the same position and is hired to perform the same tasks.

Would you go straight to resignation, or use some legitimate sick days in your final period?

I would answer this if it wasn't coming from yet another level 0 account.

Nope!

I had kind of a similar experience, I was just a minimum wage worker though.

Working at a very large local courier as a warehouse worker. Basically sorting mail/packages as a "team lead" but it was a team of one, me. I think I was paid a extra 25 cents/hour for this.

Unloading/loading about 12 couriers trucks for them during peak covid, and while most had maybe 40-50 packages, 3 of them would have 150+ packages, every day. That I had to pull off per union rule's, yes somehow I was part of a union.

What really sucked was having to wrap 18-22 skids stacked 8ft tall with containers. Holy ♥♥♥♥ you get dizzy.

There were 4 guys on the morning crew to deal with the freight coming from the airport, they would unwrap the skids and throw the plastic into a bin inside. It was my responsibility to throw this rubbish into a outside bin. As well as play janitor and empty all trashbins around the part of the warehouse that belonged to my employer, two other couriers shared this building at this time.

When one of the crew took my spot while I was on vacation, the one thing I basically got from the job, and I asked him, so what do you guys do mostly in the morning. Well we smoke alot of cigarettes and drink alot of coffee while waiting on the freight, he laughs. Those guys had plenty of time to do all that on their shift. It would take 4 guys 5 minutes to take the trash out, versus one guy taking 30 minutes.

The icing on the cake though, one of those couriers that shared the warehouse were a very large international courier company, lmao, for some reason I had to sort their incoming freight, thank god the driver would help, while the actual employees sat back and watched.

Was some of the most infuriating ♥♥♥♥ I have ever dealt with. This is when my phosphorous crashed out and I wasnt sleeping properly and alot of weird thoughts. I quit when I went on vacation the second or third time in 3 years, and when I got the check, they paid me something like 10$ a hour when minimum wage was 13.

I dont know how the ♥♥♥♥ it was legal, but I decided I was done with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ then and there.

I could have played games and just not showed up to work for months while they had to rely on temp workers but I just told them there, im done working for a company that cant value my time, and asked them to never contact me again.

I did bring my concerns up with the big boss and his reaction was basically "You only work 30 hours a week thats not that much, and what your telling me you cant do your job?"

Management are some cold uncaring ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for sure.

Sounds like they want you to quit.

Be obnoxious instead and get fired.

What a story. Are you satisfied with how you handled it, or do you wish you had done anything differently before quitting? They treated you terribly.
Meh works work. That doesn't sound too bad look for another job if you want. The only time I really wanted to walk out on a job was when my supervisor got right up in my face I wanted to punch him actually if my car wasn't in the shop that day I probably would of told him to f--- off and left

You just leave if you have better lined up or you leave slowly if you don't. And either way demand any holiday pay you're entitled to.

Make sure you have another job ready before leaving. And dont act up like others suggested, or dont bother putting your 2 years of experience there on your resume.
Thanks, I will take that into consideration.

I'm glad you didn't punch him. Violence doesn't solve anything. If he keeps yelling at you just yell back at him, or simply walk away, and tell him "Speak nicely, or I won't listen".
