Why would it affect anyone? They need to fill the roles with people, and as far as I'm concerned, whether it's TV or movies, the casting worked just fine in the vast majority of cases (and when I didn't like a character it's hard to tell whether it's intentional or not).

Some actors actively refuse roles (or leave shows) to avoid typecasting. I don't really have a problem with that, though.

In fact, me recognizing an actor is kind of rare. Yes, I did recognize MacGyver on Stargate or Hercules commanding the Andromeda; however, I did not know that (as an example) Draco Malfoy went to Central City under the guise of one "Julian Albert" aka Alchemy.
