This failed spectacularly and he was ritually sacrificed; every 10 years this process repeats with a 10 years younger Charlie Kirk leading the sacrifice. From his own future. He has long since understood the futility of this practice, it is simply beyond him or society to stop it from happening over and over. Seemingly, anyway.

Some clever twisted people have laid the foundational groundwork for this interpretation, this meme of a concern regarding gun violence, as if the Iron Age never ended. As if the sacrifice had meaning.

That's one argument. Another is that, in everyone's eyes, anyone could be bad and the creation of a hierarchical decisionmaking society of good and bad is counterproductive.

Rather, some combination of their own free will, free movement, and freedom to live, and the government's ability to provide and ensure such, provides the justification for its existence. Intervening in trade manipulations, gambling rings, extortion brackets...often, these are for the good of society and its people. But not necessarily. Sometimes they are simple tools, beating the common person through another's body.

Breaking laws regardless is against society, no matter what side of the political spectrum you identify with, you are still bound to those rules.

Ideally one has a series of rules sufficient to self-enforce; but many don't.
