Most games aren't really worth owning if they aren't going to last for a long time. I got through a whole lot of single player games like indiana jones, and avowed and the new doom game in a single month of game pass. If I owned them I could keep playing to get a bit more out of the single player experience and to earn achievements, but I decided I got my monies worth and wanted to move on.
Gamepass is rentals, where you csn never be certain is games keep being there and never have control over what you get.
The more that joins it, the more it will start to increase in monthly sub and it will release games to keep you subbed.
I rather buy 4 games on Steam that I know I want and can play also in 3 years, then be forced to pick between what others wanna serve.
This approach with subs will lead to 5-8 competing sub services all wanting you to sub montly
People getting more and more price sensitive as game price skyrocket.
Not paying 40 USD per month to be able to play my games
But MS fans seem to like it with Xbox Game Pass
Ori and the Blind Forest?
When you use gamepass you don't buy keys, steam as well going to shut down as nobody buys the keys.
You may think this may be a good thing but the golden age of videogames had lots of pirates.
Playstation was bought since back then it was considered easier to hack a playstation 2 than a xbox. Nintendo had odd console designs who you either liked or dislilked but the main reason behind it was that nintendo was greedy.
It's now history since all these consoles made by Nintendo are all now gone.
Likewise thanks to gamepass xbox and playstation will one day vanish. There simply no reason to buy one as you no longer store any games. You don't own anything physical that you couldn't consider it stealing when you buying is not owning as nothing has ever transfered to both partners of the trade.
When you used a CD there was a feeling that you own the CD since you can trade that CD for another game with someone else.
For that reason Nintendo is winning. Cause stupids don't realize that Nintendo has the comfort ability to play when you want, where you want. Without having big brother watching you playing.
