Yep, I teach Ancient Civ to 11 year olds and world events and geography to 12 and 13 year olds.
You're on the money there too. The parents are really what made the kids stealing from me annoying. Kids steal, I'll get over it, I didn't even write them up because they were first time offenders but man the "I've never gotten a call like this" "he's never gotten in trouble like this" like yeah as kids grow into adolescents they typically misbehave between the ages of 11-14.
