Getting Even Vs Getting Revenge
Do you think they are the same thing? I suspect most people would answer that with a "no", but I don't think people actually think about that when they are trying to get back at someone for something they did.

living well is the best revenge, and sometimes "getting even" could be this.

resentment is, in french, "Ressentiment". re-sentiment... your sentiments are in response mode. By resenting someone you are literally allowing them dictate your sentiments. Don't let other people, especially crappy ones, dictate your emotions. Vindictiveness is always wrong. Resentment is always wrong. Revenge leaves you empty because your identity was hollow, just the mirror image of someone else's sentiments.

Anytime someone gets on my nerves, I'm mentally thinking "ahaha you have to get up and go to work. Peasant."

It's cathartic.

Getting even is fair only for people called Steven
Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Revenge does not undo the harm or suffering caused; you simply want the other person to feel as bad as you do.

Yes, they're the same thing. They're both revenge, and hurting others isn't the same as justice. Revenge is usually what people resort to when bad people win.

Justice doesn't resort to humiliation, degradation, breaking laws just to hold people accountable. It's not about feelings but plenty of bad people find loopholes and then the only thing that can hold them accountable is when people care, and if they don't - it's why the world is full of cruel people.

There is a saying about how evil can only succeed if good people do nothing, and that happens a lot. People want to go home and relax and not have to deal with others problems, they don't want to think about global warming and rape and anything other than things that personally effect them.

Arguing a criminal is for justice is like making Trump president.

If there's one thing that Fergeson taught me is that just because someone is a police officer doesn't mean they're always going to be a good person.

Getting even gives them the opportunity to get revenge, and they aren't likely to be graceful.

What you want to do is kill them with kindness. Achieve whatever goal you set out do without them, or make them look bad in the process of doing so. Then smile and wave once you get there.

What you want is for them to feel defeated, not angry.

It depends on the context of the situation.
Sometimes getting even still isn't fair, considering what has been suffered.

Sorry to break it to you, but that's exactly what our "justice" does.

Oh, I'm aware. That's why aggression will never work. They'll always be able to play things off. Stuff has to be proven, or they have to be the lesser in any comparison made to you. That's the only way to win against certain individuals, because that's how they go to war.

For me, no. Getting revenge tend to be more excessive.

When someone slap you, getting even is slap them back.
Getting revenge is german suplex them on hard surface.
