Capitalism gets rid of diversity, when everything is about money. There´s no place for learning languages, when they don´t earn money. There´s no place for different cultures, when it doesn´t earn money.

Leftist might want to have international rules about certain things. Like e.g. taxes or workers rights. Leftists might want that not everything is about money, so languages, dialects and cultures still have a place.

In capitalism everybody needs to think the same, because if You don´t think like a capitalist, You end up poor or even starve to death if there is no welfare.

I would not confuse leftism with anti-capitalism in the modern day. After the New Left it's important to understand that leftism is no longer just about defeating capitalism but rather the destruction and subversion of reality at all costs. Some thinkers have even pushed to say that modern leftism is an extension of the bourgeois / capitalist mindset.

Although, I should note, that the old Left doesn't have a good track record on this either, since Marxists and Bolsheviks advocated for cosmopolitanism, which was the predecessor of world homogenization in the name of the "proletarian" identity. Actually, it's worse than it is now because usually leftists believe in some form of geniunely grounded identity to be defended. The old Leftists saw it as illusory.

I wouldn´t consider that as left - same as most things which Americans label as left. And of course it´s odd that people with much money claim to be left - or favor such ideas, as long as it´s not about their own money.

I´d agree that there are "lifestyle" leftists. Basically hypocrites, or people who have no idea what "leftism" is about.

It doesn´t even need to be against capitalism, but about a certain amount of fairness, to secure individual freedom. There´s no freedom is everyone depends on the decisions of big corporations, and certain billionaires buy all kinds of media sources to manipulate the people.

Also the topic is about neo liberalism - which imho doesn´t have much to do with liberal ideas. It´s basically only about total freedom for business, at the cost of individual freedom for the people.
