A would-be dictator doesn’t play by the rules forever. they shape the mechanism of government and change those rules. They start bending or rewriting the law so that what was once illegal becomes “legal.”

The Third Reich was completely legal though.It operated through loopholes, yes, and the end regime would most likely violate Weimar law, but the creation of the dictatorship itself was hugely in part the result of bad legal codes.

That is true, they would on purposefully use any technicality to screw the voting system in government before coming to supreme power.
Ie walking out / obstruction .
