If it goes wrong for the doctor, he still walks away.
I respect the person who stops and helps the man who collapses in the street and not walks past as 99.99 does.. or who steps forward and stops a rape or robbing of a person he does not know
aka when you do the right thing not cause it is your job..
nor risk your life cause it's your job...
but without fame, without reward, and oten even without thankfullness (for people are asses like that no good deed shall be left unpunished).. but you still do the right thing.
Isn't that common courtesy though?
Like military heroes are basically idiots, and medical heroes rather only do their job. Military heroes are connected to bravery, which is a term to make stupid things look good, hence idiots - else there´s nothing wrong in shooting people down for any kind of reasons of course.
Also the general idea is to respect all people, except they do something which removes the respect from them. There´s of course the other idea to give a ♥♥♥♥ about anybody, except they do something to "earn respect", which is the childish approach.
Both are prone to seeing some horrendous stuff.
They both are often put in a position to figure stuff out and other peoples lives depending on it.
There is no vs but there is a difference.
Doctors and nurses though have every moment of their working lives tested. Soldiers do not.
Excellent point.
Doctors and nurses are always under pressure.
It´s about pressure. They have not more or less pressure about it than everybody else (who isn´t a multiple millionaire). If they had less pressure people who work would be utterly stupid to do that work and not be unemployed. But usually - because they prefer to have less pressure, they prefer to work, because it´s a better status, more money, and You can choose how much money You earn and how to spend it.
People who say that unemployed people have it better - or less pressure - while still having a job, are either lying or stupid.
And i personally wouldn´t connect "pressure" to being a "hero" anyways, which is why i made the comment as a whole, as few people would see unemployed people as heroes. Because it doesn´t fit the mindset what one wants to see as being heroic.
