Hi there! I'm just looking for some recommendations. I love all of the HM games, plus the spin offs like RF. I'm already aware of Stardew Valley and a few of the other greenlit games, but I was just curious as to if there's already any like this that have been released? Sometimes it's hard to sift through everything to find a decent game, hahah, especially when it's hard to specify the genre. Casual and simulation only seem to get you so far :P

Does anyone know if a game like this exist and if there is one in high quality with a lot of depth and customization options?

The closest I can think of is Neo Aquarium where you can customize your tank a bit but that is not the focus of the game.

Yeah, I already found that game here on Steam and that isn't really what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a game where you can decorate your own aquarium, and really in depth where you have to plant your plants and let them grow, choose the right combination of fish and feed them or they will die, the right lighting, fresh and/or salt water ect. a real aquarium simulator.

Not sure if there is a game like that but I thought of it while I was playing Farming simulator, hehe. I think it could be really great if done right with high quality graphics and realistic fish behavior with lots of customization options of how you want your aquarium to look like. So your aquarium is always unique, no matter how many people are playing it.

And on top of that, it would be awesome to have a feature to make your own screensaver with it!

But sadly, that game or simulator, while looking very good, lacks depth and customization options. It would be so awesome if you could zoom out and see the Aquarium in a virtual room, choose the shape and size of the aquarium, the lights (strenght & color), fresh or salt water, place the plants where you want and what type, and all other decoration options you can think of. Would also be great if you could start with small fish and let them grow over time and start breeding, then catch the small ones or seperate the pregnant fish to help the newborn survive, discover new species/colors by breeding and sell them for ingame currency so you can buy more stuff like bigger tank, more decoration ect.

They could make a virtual aquarium simulator with so much depth that I'm sure people would love to play it and even get addictive, they could even make it so that you could sell new breed for real money to other players here on steam, just like with items of other games :D

Shame there isn't any game like that yet.

I actually was thinking the same thing. Theres just no really good in depth aquarium sims. I wonder how much it would cost to pay a programmer to build it.

Just buy an aquarium man. Its not really a game topic that will make huge sales. Not even for youtube videos of people laughing at the idea...

I've really no idea why you even make a post if you do not care about the topic, but since you did I want to ask you why they're making fishing simulator games? Why are people just not go outside and go fishing?

I've fully explained what I have in my mind and what is all possible with a game like this, it's much more fun than a farming simulator but people still play games like that and different companies are making those games. With this you can make something unique, decorate your own aquarium without spending a lot of money, because in real life buying and decorating an aquarium cost a lot of money! and you need to have room for it as well.

But anyway, this is a old thread now and I don't think a game like this will ever be made, most people just want to shoot and kill stuff and lack patience to do anything else these days..

Cool ideas. I would buy something like that, especially if you could then use your design in a screensaver like fashion. I've just been looking for a good aquarium screensaver. I think they used to have one on Steam but I don't know what happened to it.
