If you can add something of value to the thread like an input even just to say thank you this solution still works fine but if its just a 10 year old thread brought back by randomuser889 just saying "lol" it only ever comes across as purposely annoying. uwu
People are idiots. They think that if a post is not on the first page that old threads should be locked. The thread is not over until it is locked.
if it's obsessively old , I personally can find it a bit weird to see my own 10 years old post suddenly resurface about a subject I now have a completely different point of view or opinion on today.

That's true. And that date depends on the forum.
try walking up to someone IRL and bringing up one of their past arguments that you were never even a part of from years ago. it's very annoying for people to bring it up like it's an ongoing discussion and everyone has perfect memory to pick up and resume their opinions which totally have not changed at all :P
It doesn't hurt my feelings.
On the internet a discussion is not over until the thread is locked and nobody starts a new one of the same topic.
The problem is no knows the peeps in the thread. And if they're still here, they don't want to talk about it.
